iC Program

Matching Startup Companies with Senior Management Talent

Startup companies often need to fill out their founder teams or bring in senior management talent when raising venture capital- but where do you find these senior executives?

The iC program, run by the ASU Venture Catalyst at SkySong, will help early stage startup and growth oriented companies to find seasoned executives and talented technologists to fill a range of positions on an interim basis such as:

  • Chief Executive Officer
  • Chief Financial Officer
  • Chief Technology Officer
  • Chief Sales or Marketing Officer
  • Senior board level appointments

It is expected that “c” level executives (iC) will work with these early stage ventures for a six to thirty six month period to support the early stage development process, including fund raising. Successful iC’s accepted to the program are expected to have 15 years + experience as CEO, COO, CFO, Senior Executive, serial entrepreneur or similar experience in multiple phases of business development. Of particular interest are executives who have been part of the founder team of successful startup companies.

Our early stage ventures are in the high potential start-up (HPSU) space, introducing a new or innovative product/service to national and/or international markets. In order to reach their potential, these ventures require significant management team experience to lead them to high growth levels, successful funding rounds and strategic partnerships ultimately resulting in a clear path to commercialization.

The Venture Catalyst matches iC’s with domain expertise in the ventures sector, typically in the high tech space. iC’s are expected to have a proven track record in early stage venture development, strong leadership skills as well as established connections in the business community to generate strategic introductions.

Expected outcomes;
To deliver progress in the following areas of business formation/development:

  • Executive Summary/Business Plan
  • Formation of Business Strategy
  • Company Formation
  • Development of IP strategy
  • Formation of funding strategy
  • Business Development Activities
